When the contractor said he'd re-paint the ceilings, we thought it would be a good time to finally get rid of the ugly wallpaper border. We hadn't been able to get rid of it (even though we ripped out all the wallpaper) because our kitchen/dining area ceiling is a dark, peachy off-white shade (that's about the color of the wallpaper border) and that would look foolish with light walls.
Here's the wallpaper border (I swear the ceiling is actually the same color as the border, but it doesn't look like it in the picture):

Our plan was to prime it and paint it with the same color as on our walls currently, to buy time until we re-paint everything (kids make walls filty and chipped), but the contractor said he has enough paint that he'll do the ceilings and leave us paint to do the walls on our own!
